General note

The Danish community of Junction City organized the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1902 with J. J. Mylund as the first pastor. The first church was erected in 1908 and was moved to a new location in June of 1940. The congregation used the Danish language exclusively in its early years and then added English until 1954. The Danish Ladies’ Aid was organized in 1903. The congregation emphasized the Grundvigian tradition.
