Seal Committee

Materials documenting PLC’s search for a new seal and new “nickname” upon reorganization into a university. File includes sketchings of potential seal designs, lists of possible nicknames, unrelated correspondence on the Lutheran Encyclopedia, correspondence with designers regarding the seal (1959), informational sheets on the company designing the seal, and a booklet entitled “Foundation for Reformation Research”.

File includes a lengthy memo by Dr. Schnackenberg regarding Teacher Competence according to ACTEC guidelines, lists of university employees, minutes of Steering Committee meetings, lists of Self-Study Committee members, notes made by Schnackenberg on committee meetings, correspondence with the President of the ALC , Dr. Foss, regarding the study, portions of the findings of the committee, Tentative Report and Statement of the Objectives Committee, resolutions of the Board of Regents regarding the findings of the committee and the Faculty Senate, and progress reports.
