Marian Halvorson a literary consultant in Africa for the Committee on World Literacy and Christian Literature received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters on February 21, 1971. She worked in Africa for 25 years where she wrote many textbooks in African languages. She is seen here working with students.
