The Papers of Johan Xavier contains materials related to Xavier's time as a student at Luther College and Luther Seminary and his work at Pacific Lutheran Academy as the librarian from 1908-1918 and as acting president from 1920 to 1921. Also included in this collection are several cash ledgers kept by Xavier to track his finances.

Papers of Oscar A. Tingelstad, President at Pacific Lutheran University, 1928-1943. The collection consists of correspondence, materials from Oscar A. Tingelstad’s inauguration, financial and stock information and miscellaneous materials from 1928 to 1952. The majority of these materials comes from 1931 to 1937 and is copies from the Tingelstad papers housed at St. Olaf University (the Norwegian-American Historical Association). This collection is arranged into four series and arranged chronologically within each file.

The correspondence is almost entirely related to Tingelstad’s position as the editor of the Pacific Lutheran College publication The Pacific Lutheran Herald, and covers the years 1931 – 1937. The inauguration materials include programs and related correspondence. The financial and stock information includes a book containing a list of the bonds, stocks, and pertinent information held by Oscar A. Tingelstad. The remainder of the collection contains miscellaneous documents belonging to Tingelstad, most pertaining to his work as president of Pacific Lutheran College. Also included are artifacts and other oversized documents related to Dr. Tingelstad’s time as President.

Papers of Seth Clarence Eastvold, President at Pacific Lutheran College from 1943 to 1962. These Papers contain correspondence, war papers, financial records, and other materials from Eastvold’s career at the College.

This collection is divided into six series and consists of correspondence, war papers, financial records, and miscellaneous other materials from 1942 to 1997. The majority of the material comes from 1943 – 1862 when Eastvold was President of the university. Files are arranged within series by subject and ordered chronologically.

The correspondence varies from the daily operations of a university to Eastvold’s letters home describing his trip around the world. The war papers detail recruitment and the running of military training programs for students at Pacific Lutheran College, as well as the required number of students that needed to enlist. The financial records cover the refinance of the college and bringing the university out of debt while Eastvold was President. The remaining papers are composed of newspaper clippings, short works written by Eastvold and other paperwork related to his office as president. In the last series there are artifacts, oversized documents, and taped interviews from PLU Oral Histories and Lecture series related to Eastvold’s time as President at PLU.

Papers of Robert A.L. Mortvedt, President at Pacific Lutheran University, 1962-1969. This collection contains correspondence, speeches, and clippings from Mortvedt’s time at several different universities including the University of Kansas City, Bethany College, and Pacific Lutheran University.

Contents are arranged by subject, and whenever possible, the original order has been preserved. Within the files, materials are ordered chronologically. This collection is arranged into thirteen series, outlined below. Much of the collection pertains to Dr. Mortvedt’s years as president of PLU, but there are also materials regarding his undergraduate and graduate work, his years at the University of Kansas City, his presidency at Bethany College, his work with the Board of Education of the Lutheran Church, and his activities after retiring from PLU. There are also materials concerning his father, A.O. Mortvedt, and other relatives. This collection also includes numerous documents concerning the Higher Education Fund Committee and the Independent Colleges of Washington Association. Also included (in Series 11-13) are artifacts, oversized documents, and taped interviews in PLU’s Oral Histories collections regarding Dr. Mortvedt’s time as University President.

The Eugene Wiegman Papers consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, meeting minutes and other documentation related to Wiegman's life and career. The majority of the material comes from 1969-1974 when Wiegman served as PLU President.

Contains the documents and records of the Vasa Order of America from its meetings, events, and daily interactions. Such documents include publicized works, such as almanacs, histories, and newsletters; treasurers' reports and inventories; membership cards and mailing lists; convention programs; correspondence; constitution and bylaws; and meeting minutes. The documents are from the Grand Lodge in Connecticut, the Pacific Northwest District Lodge no. 13, and Norden Lodge no. 233 of Tacoma, Washington.

The records of Nordlandslaget Nordlyset (or the Northlight Club) includes correspondence, financial and membership ledgers, publications, and programs.

These records include correspondence, financial reports, programs, newsletters, and scrapbooks related to the activities and operations of the Leif Erikson Foundation. Leif Erikson was a man who came to North America in the year 1000. Due to him North America was tried to be colonized for over 300 years. Efforts were made by the Leif Erikson League to make a statue, a Leif Erikson Day (October 9th) and a postage stamp in his honor, all of which were successfully completed.

Leif Erickson is celebrated as a man who came to North America before Christopher Columbus. His statue was erected in the city of Seattle. This statue would be a symbol of cultural pride to the Scandinavian people. It was several feet tall overlooking towards the sea and cost approximately 40,000 dollars. The statue was unveiled in front of 3000 people on June 17 1962 at Shillshole Bay Marina. There was a request put in by the Leif Erikson Foundation to make the statue a landmark. The foundation also sought to make the 9th of October which went to the Senate and House Judiciary Committees. This request garnered much support from several of the congress members, the mayor and the governor. September 2nd of 1964, Congress declared October 9th to be Leif Erikson Day. In 1968 Marie Sherwin wrote a short paper titled “A Short History of the ‘Leif Erikson League, Incorporated, of the Seattle Area’”. It gives a short insight of the building of the statue, the success in having October 9th be Leif Erikson Day and she also mentions that 8 of Seattle’s citizens were awarded with the St. Olav’s Medal. His Majesty Olav V, King of Norway also came to visit and see the statue and enjoy a program set up by the surrounding schools and sponsored by Leif Erikson League. In a letter written in 1968, Ted Nakkerud talks about the effort of making Colombus day a national holiday and the problems that causes for the Scandinavian community. The proposed solution of the leagues president was to have a day named “Founders Day” that encompasses the different nationalities that came to North America. In 1972, much of the history of the Leif Erikson league was given over to Pacific Lutheran University to be kept in the archives. The agreement was overseen by Milton Nesvig. Among the financial papers, there were also papers that reported the scholarship that the Leif Erikson Memorial Committee sponsored. This scholarship was of 600.00 dollars and was given to students of Scandinavian decent.
