"We turn to look along Garfield Street, Parkland's 2-blk.-long business section. Just since Sept. it has been paved, acquired sidewalks, + had several additions to its business places. But it's still a nice small town. Everyone walks to the P.O., which is 1 blk. straight ahead on the right as we stand here."

"Coming again onto the campus, we walk west and see the E. entrance to the Science Hall, with Olsen boys in doorway. This bldg. was dedicated this past Nov. 7th. It has Physics on the 1st fl., Biology on 2nd,+ Chemistry on 3rd."

"This view of the library (now Xavier Hall) is taken thru a 3rd floor of Science Hall. The library was built in 1939, but stacks were completed this year."

"Down hill, + across Clover Creek, is the gymnasium. Most of the funds for this were contributed by Tacoma friends (in memory of those who died in WW2). It was dedicated in December, this past winter, after a basketball game with U. of Wash., whose president spoke."
