File includes two copies from Xavier’s Master Thesis (written in Norwegian) submitted to the University of Washington in 1929 for the Degree of Master of the Arts. One copy appears to be from Xavier’s personal library and the other was from the PLC library.
A series of cash ledgers (each with Xavier’s name at the top) detailing expenses with dates ranging from 1867 to 1901. Contents of the ledgers vary and are possibly practice figure books from Xavier’s early education.
A bound book entitled (inside) “Hermeneutics: The Lectures as Given in Class by Prof. W. M. H. Petersen” that was noted and abridged by Xavier during his time at Luther Seminary in Robbinsdale, Minnesota in 1896.
In this diary Xavier notes PLC sports scores, spends a great deal of time studying and gardening, and takes a trip to Norway. In the back pocket: scraps with addresses written on them, notes and a perfectly preserved leaf. In the front of the book are two excellent pencil drawings from a “Sara Amanda Xavier.”
