"Alison Corrigan '94 was named president and CEO of the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce in November. At 25, she is the youngest president in the chamber's history" (p. 14 Scene Spring 1998). Alison started working with the Chamber of Commerce as an intern while attending PLU.

Former Miss SeaFair and PLU alum Alison Grande (1995) was featured in a Scene story (v. 28, no. 14) after winning an Emmy for a consumer alert series she produced for KIRO-TV in 1997. She later became a reporter for the station. Alison grew up in Redmond, Washington, and graduated from PLU with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Donald Eugene Strandness Jr. (PLU class of 1950) and his wife Edith, academic year 1997-1998. Dr. Strandness, whose research brought about significant advances in noninvasive vascular medicine, was a former head of the division of vascular surgery at the University of Washington. He was born in Bowman, North Dakota, in 1928, and passed away January 7, 2002, at his home in Bellevue, Washington at the age of 73.

Gretchen Glew, (1918-2011) was featured in a story in the fall, 1997, issue of Scene. She was a PLU alum (1940, 1944), who began teaching in 1940 right after graduation, not retiring until she reached the age of 78.
