Scene, v. XVI, no. 2, December 1985, p. 3. Retired UPS biology professor, James Slater. A display of artifacts he has collected was on exhibit in Mortvedt Library. Dr. Slater is helping to plan a memorial frame near the biology department in the PLU Rieke Science Center which will feature six noteworthy Pacific Northwest biologists, including himself and Dr. Irene Creso, who is a former student of Slater's and a retired PLU biology professor.
