      General note

Rev. Isaiah S. J. Chow founded Bethel Chinese Lutheran Church. He was in the clergy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong for 18 years and immigrated with his family in December of 1976. He noted that there was no Chinese Lutheran church in Seattle, so he organized this congregation on July 1, 1979. Services have been held at Bethel Lutheran Church of Shoreline.
