      General note

      The first worship service of Christ Lutheran Church was on February 1, 1976 at University Park Elementary School and thefirst Sunday School classes were held on March 21, 1976. On May 16, 1976, the congregational Charter opened for signatures. May 30th of that first year, services were moved to Alaskaland for the summer. This was to become an annual tradition. On December 5, 1976, the congregation for formally organized and the first council was elected. Theground-breaking for the new church building took place in July of 1979 and the first service was held there on December 23, 1979. The official dedication took place on Jan. 13, 1980.
