Rev. John Baglien, LCA Mission Director, began his work in Bozeman in February of 1966, holding the first worship service in the Danforth Chapel at Montana State University on April 24, 1966 with 72 worshippers present. Official organization took place on January 15, 1967 with the charter roll closing on March 26 of that year with 74 adults and 42 children. On May 22, 1967 the congregation was received into the Pacific Northwest Synod. The construction of the new church began with groundbreaking ceremonies on August 4, 1968, and the Service of Entry taking place March 9, 1969. Dedication followed on May 4.
