General note

This congregation was organized by the Rev. Henry Rieke and was also served by Rev. Paul Groschupf until the first pastor was called 1891. The congregation met in homes until 1917, when the church was built at a cost of $6000. The physical plant was enlarged in 1958 and a parsonage was added in 1966. Services were conducted in both German and English until 1911 when the language question was resolved in favor of English. In 1921 the women were given the right to vote.
