The University Archives Reference Files on Faculty and Staff contain information regarding PLU employees gathered from Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, and other sources. These may include newspaper clippings, press releases, biographical information, photographs, correspondence, and other content related to the employees PLU career. This content is governed by an access restriction policy.

Archives Reference Materials on Faculty and Staff Access Restriction Policy:
Due to the personal or sensitive information that may be contained in the Archives Reference Materials on Faculty and Staff, these records are restricted. Upon request, Archives and Special Collections staff may provide limited access to content from these materials as defined below:

Sources created for a public audience
Items in the Archives Reference Materials on Faculty and Staff that were intended for a public audience (i.e. press releases, newspaper clippings, publicity materials, etc.) may be viewed by users in person and/or reproduced and/or accessed digitally following established Archives and Special Collections policies. -
Photographs that are attributed to a University source
Photographs that are attributed to a Pacific Lutheran University source (the verso of the photograph or the photograph container identifies “Pacific Lutheran University,” “University Photographic Services,” “Marketing and Communications,” the name of a University Photographer, etc.) may be viewed by users in person and/or reproduced and/or accessed digitally following established Archives and Special Collections policies. -
Basic biographical information
The following information may be provided to users by Archives and Special Collections staff without additional permission:
Academic institutions attended, degrees awarded, and dates of awarded degrees
Dates of employment at Pacific Lutheran University
Position titles at Pacific Lutheran University
(The original documents containing this information may not be viewed in person or reproduced in any way unless permission is granted by the Office of the Provost.)
Permission to view, reproduce, or otherwise access information in the Archives Reference Materials on Faculty and Staff that falls outside of the categories described in this policy must be granted by the provost. Users may request access by emailing provost@plu.edu with a list of the material(s) they wish to view and a detailed description of their research purpose or information need. The provost will approve or reject requests for access. Archives and Special Collections staff will work in consultation with the Office of the Provost to provide access for users whose requests have been approved.
Exceptions:
The Office of the Provost and the Office of the President may view and/or reproduce all content from these files. Materials may be delivered, upon request, to these offices.
