General note
In the fall of 1955 Rev. M. D. Hinderlie was called, and he arrived at Midway the following February. A survey of the community began that month, and the first worship service was held on March 11, 1956. The first Sunday School was held March 18, and the first choir rehearsal on March 21. In June construction of the first unit (sanctuary and basement) began. The first service at that site was on November 4, being held in the basement, as the sanctuary, and dedication for the completed building followed on March 10, 1957. In July of 1961 ground was broken for the parish education unit. In the summer of 1974 the original sanctuary was remodeled, with rededication following in November of that year.
