Biographical Note
Guy Selwin Allison was born on the farm of his maternal grandfather, William Pritchett, in Pike County, Missouri. He grew up in Perry, Missouri, working at a hardware store and at a newspaper plant. He became a journalist who focused his writings on America history and the Presidents of the United States. He authored the columns “Bypaths of History,” “Our Presidents at a Glance,” “Junior Editors,” and “Landmark in History” as well as other articles regarding especially the history of the United States and its presidents. He also wrote articles on the Pacific Northwest, as he lived in California but spent his summers in Washington, and the culture of the United States. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club.
