      General note

It was in 1975 that interest began to develop in beginning a mission in the Eagle area, and a partial survey was held which revealed some possibilities. In 1977 a preaching ministry was begun using area pastors for about 4 months. Responses indicated a continuation of the services, the development of a “New Mission Profile” and the beginning of a Sunday School. On February 20, 1979 Rev. Charles A. Sider was appointed as Pastor/Developer by the LCA, arriving on May 1st and holding his first service on May 6, 1979. After a year of organizational and missionary work the congregation was organized as Hope Lutheran Church on September 20, 1980 with 197 persons present. The charter closed on December 31, 1980 with 110 adult members.
