Contains papers and correspondence relating to Clarence Solberg's term as bishop, 1967-1982.

Correspondence, 1967-1976
1967-1976
Part of Clarence Solberg Papers

Correspondence involves the accreditation status of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in Tacoma, Washington, and the potential ordination of graduates of this seminary in the ALC. Issues include Faith's curriculum, the constitution of the ALC, the necessary procedures to be taken by graduates before ordination, and the case of a specific graduate seeking ordination in the ALC. After the 1978 suspension of Central Lutheran Church in Tacoma, Washinton, Bishop Solberg received many letters from pastors and lay people. The majority of responses in this collection favor Central Lutheran, with only a handful supporting the NPD Executive Committee. Letters are organized by date and include a copy of the response of the NPD office as well as the original letters.

Bishop Solberg helped organize the reunion by sending questionnaires to his former classmates as well as two surviving professors to be used in a classmate's book. Everyone responded, and the questionnaires are included, organized alphabetically, in addition to the final copy of the book and a summary of its production costs.
