"We turn to look along Garfield Street, Parkland's 2-blk.-long business section. Just since Sept. it has been paved, acquired sidewalks, + had several additions to its business places. But it's still a nice small town. Everyone walks to the P.O., which is 1 blk. straight ahead on the right as we stand here."
"Back at Science Hall again, we look out an E. 3rd fl. window toward Park Ave. + the Student Union Bldg. This is the newest Bldg. on campus. It was dedicated in Feb. by Rev. N. A. Menter of Detroit, Chairman of the Board of Educ. of the American Lutheran Church. The close co-operation, in the offices of P. L. C., among the A. L. C. (German background), the Augustana Synod (Swedish), + our E. L. C. (Norwegian) is a source of pride + thankfulness to students + faculty + friends."
"Coming again onto the campus, we walk west and see the E. entrance to the Science Hall, with Olsen boys in doorway. This bldg. was dedicated this past Nov. 7th. It has Physics on the 1st fl., Biology on 2nd,+ Chemistry on 3rd."
"This view of the library (now Xavier Hall) is taken thru a 3rd floor of Science Hall. The library was built in 1939, but stacks were completed this year."
"Turning and looking back South from near the library, we see the Science Hall, and S.E. of it is the Student Union Bldg. (replaced by the University Center)."
