Biographical Note
Johannes B. Wist, chief editor for the Decorah Posten in Iowa, was remembered for his contributions to Norwegian journalism in America as well as for his strong interest in and contributions to Norwegian literature. His biography recounts that, in 1905, he began working on the anthology "Symra," and then began his own literary work describing the Norwegian American experience. The biography, written by "K.P.", recalls that Wist was known for his helpfulness, trustworthiness, and ability to give sound advice, as well as for his service to the local Norwegian community and his promotion of Norwegian culture.
