Biographical Note
The Reverend John Melvin Moe corresponded with the Augsburg Publishing House in the late 1970s regarding a series of Norwegian books that the press was considering publishing translations of. There are also letters between Reverend Moe and Norwegian pastor, author, and professor Per Lønning, whose meditations on Old Testament texts Reverend Moe translated into English. The Reverend Moe was married in 1976 and retired from ministry at the end of that year. He and his wife moved from Minnesota to Seattle where he continued translation work for Per Lønning and then for Kaare Hagen’s book Den Religiøse Satan, on occult religion.
