Biographical Note
Juul Helleson was born on 14 March 1851 on Kragtorp Farm in Høland Parish, Norway, to Helle Anderson Kragtorp Helleson (1818 - 1900) and Karen Andrine Christophersdatter Helleson. He was baptized and confirmed by Reverend Faye. He immigrated to America in 1872. Laura Amalie Jakobson was born on 7 October 1855 in Freeport, Iowa, baptized by Reverend U. V. Koren. When she was one year old her parents moved to Fillmore, Minnesota. She was confirmed by Reverend M. Magnus in the Root-Prairie Congregation. Juul Helleson and Laura Amalie Jakobson were married by pastor T. Larsen in Henrytown Church, Fillmore County, Minnesota, in 1876. They had 6 children, Clara, Mathilde, Hans, Hilda, Carl & Julia. Juul died in 1934 and Laura passed on in 1943 in Lyon County, Minnesota.
