      General note

In 1967 the ALC purchased a plot of ground four miles east of Renton. In 1973 Rev. Charles Mays, a native of the Pacific Northwest, came as the first pastor from Fairfax, VA. The congregation was formed as a result of a survey and a prayer task force of lay persons. To begin with services were held in Hagen’s Square Dance Barn and the first Christmas service was held with the parishioners sitting on bales of hay. A church was started in 1976, with dedication taking place on November 7 of that year.
