General note

Christ Lutheran was established by the Board of missions of the ELC, and the first services were held in Harvard Elementary School on August 12, 1956. Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Tacoma was the sponsoring congregation. Groundbreaking for the parsonage took place on September 16, 1956, and for the church and parish unit on November 4 of that year. On August 11, 1957 the church and parsonage were dedicated by Dr. H. L. Foss, President of the North Pacific District. Rev. Wesley Tollefson was installed on that day as the first pastor of the congregation. An educational wing was dedicated October 6, 1963. A fireside room and offices were dedicated on November 21, 1982 in connection with the 25th anniversary of the congregation. The congregation burned the mortgage on their property on November 26, 1978.
