Biographical Note
Pauline Paulson Hendrickson was born at Alme, South Gudbransdalen, Norway, on 18 March 1848. Her mother died when she was five. Three years later she immigrated with her father, stepmother, and two sisters, Sarah and Mary, to America, settling near Carver, Minnesota. After her confirmation she moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, to work for a wealthy family. She earned enough to attend St. Peter Academy and later taught in public schools. In 1872 she married Carelius Hendrickson, born in Tuensberg, Grue, Norway, on 4 April 1842. They farmed in Willmar, Minnesota until 1913 whey they moved to Spicer, Minnesota. They had seven children. Pauline died at age 79.
