General note
St. Paul’s was established in 1906, the meeting place at that time being the August Andresen home at 404 Alder Street. Services were later held at Immanuel Lutheran on Alder Street and in the German Lutheran Church on Hazel Street. In 1919 the congregation purchased the present site, and the first service there was held September 17, 1919 in a chapel, which had been built. In 1926, construction of the building that is now part of the present church was begun, being completed and dedicated in May of 1929. The chapel then became the parsonage. In 1950 it was sold to make room for an addition to the basement and sanctuary. A parish education center was dedicated in January of 1961.
