General note
Trinity has its roots in the old Carlyle Lutheran Church, which was established on July 15, 1916. People in Wibaux were served through this parish until Trinity was established on January 4, 1939. The congregation met in an Episcopal church and they were served by the pastor from First Lutheran as well as pastors from other communities until July 1, 1953, when Rev. Loyal E. Golf became the first resident pastor. On August 19, 1951 the congregation worshipped for the first time in their new church. A new parsonage was built in 1954. Tom Quale, a native or Norway, designed, fashioned and donated the interior church furnishings such as the pulpit and altar.
