      General note

Trinity was organized by a number of Lutherans of Norwegian background in Coeur d’Alene on November 15, 1905. Prior to that there had been an Augustana Synod (Swedish) congregation which was started in 1900 but dissolved in the 1920s, and a group of Germans of the Ohio Synod formed a congregation in 1914 which dissolved after a few years. In 1913 Trinity built its first church. In 1929 improvements were made on the church and a brick addition was built. In 1953 lots were purchased south of the church at 5th and Reed and the present sanctuary was erected. The existing building was remodeled into a parish education unit.
