General note

On September 1, 1955, the student congregation was established at Pacific Lutheran University by the Board of Regents for the purpose of providing a ministry to the student body. Students held associate membership in the congregation. A full-time pastor, Rev. Robert Lugness, was called, and he took over in that year. Worship services were initially held in Eastvold Auditoriumand later moved to Chris Knutzen Hall in the Anderson University Center. The student congregation is led by students under their own elected council.
