      General note

Feeling the need to establish a congregation in Sweet Home, a group of Lutheran families gathered together for the first worship services in August of 1953 in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The Board of Home Missions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church called Rev. Oliver Everett to establish the congregation which was organized with ten charter members in November of that year. Groundbreaking services for the church were held in June of 1955. Two additional units were added, and in each case, all materials and labor were donated by members of the congregation.
