      General note

This congregation was organized by the Board of American Missions (northwestern district) of the ALC in 1955. In cooperation with the Columbia Conference of the Augustana Synod, a two-point parish was set up with Valby Lutheran of Ione, a rural congregation which had existed since 1886. Rev. Merlin Zier was called to serve the two churches.
