In the back pocket: scraps with addresses written on them, notes and a perfectly preserved leaf. In the front of the book are two excellent pencil drawings from a “Sara Amanda Xavier.”

This file includes letter(s) to the State Board of Public Instruction written by Xavier concerning the accreditation of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Correspondence between Xavier and various individuals in noted in this document.
File includes two copies from Xavier’s Master Thesis (written in Norwegian) submitted to the University of Washington in 1929 for the Degree of Master of the Arts. One copy appears to be from Xavier’s personal library and the other was from the PLC library.
A series of cash ledgers (each with Xavier’s name at the top) detailing expenses with dates ranging from 1867 to 1901. Contents of the ledgers vary and are possibly practice figure books from Xavier’s early education.
