This congregation started in 1956 as a mission congregation of the LCMS. In 1964 the church plant was constructed, and in 1972 they started an internship program with Concordia Seminary. In 1976 the congregation voted to leave the LCMS and join the AELC. In 1977 the present sanctuary and office was constructed. In 1981, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, an LCA congregation, voted to merge with Resurrection.
