General note

In October of 1946, after a survey by the Board of American Missions of the ULCA, Pastor Paul Funk began the establishment of a mission in Seaside. The first service was held in November of 1946 in the Strand Theater, and organization took place on May 11, 1947 with 71 charter members. In September of that year a house and property were purchased, and on June 24, 1956, the new church was dedicated. Additional property for parking was added in 1979, and in 1983 the congregation authorized an addition to the church to provide Sunday School space, new administrative offices, kitchen, storage spaces, and remodeling of the entrances of the church. The final payment on the mortgage was made on September 7, 1984, and the burning of the mortgage was celebrated in October of that year.
