Edward Emanuel Johnson

This file includes a copy of Edward Emanuel Johnson's newspaper obituary, a copy of Johnson's record of naturalization, and a copy of an individual's reminiscences of meeting Johnson at the age of 92. There is also a copy of a travel permit for Anna Oberg that was signed by her pastor in Lyrestad, Skaraborg, Sweden, a copy of an application for placer mining signed by Edvard Johnson and a mining certificate issued by the Dominion of Canada in 1898. An issue of The Sea Chest, the journal of the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society, in addition to copies of photographs of Johnson's shipyard and with Anna Oberg for their wedding.

This section of the collection consists of the history of the Egersund Church, photographs from Norway and schools in the Egersund area, and information on where relatives went to school, “Egersund and the Trip to Norway and Sweden in 1990”, all collected by Nina Larson. Also included is “Information from My Trip to Norway in 1993” by Nina Larson.

Eide, John

The interview also contains a paper by John regarding baptism, a photograph of John and his siblings in Norway, and two photographs of John at the time of the interview. Mr. Eide speaks Norwegian fairly often during the interview.

Consists of personal papers relating to Elsie M. Parkhurst’s ancestors. She requested information about the arrival of her ancestors in America. The request form is included, as well as the actual copy of the list of alien passengers for the U.S. immigration officer at port of arrival, dated 1907. Included are a list of address for offices of immigration and naturalization service matters, a copy of a page from the White Star Line ship Cedric that lists the passenger Peter Severin Mittet., and a letter written by Elsie requesting the information.
